INSURANCE

I am currently in network with Optum Health Care plans, Aetna, and United Healthcare plans. I am a Certified Out of Network provider with Tricare. I currently accept insurance for the 45 minute therapy sessions.

Please be aware that insurance does not cover the cost of extended intensive EMDR sessions.

You ask, I answer

  • Yes, in some cases you may be eligible to use out-of network insurance benefits. You will be responsible for paying for each session in full at time of appointment. I will provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

  • Yes, I reserve a limited number of sliding scale spots in my schedule. If you are unable to pay my full rate do not hesitate to contact me. If I do not have available space, I’d be happy to offer referrals to trusted clinicians in the area.

  • No, at this time, all of the services I provide are virtual sessions held on HIPPA-compliant Zoom for residents of Florida.

  • No, as a therapist I can only provide services in the states that I hold a license. I am only licensed to work with residents of Florida at this time. You must live and be located in the state of Florida for us to work together.

  • I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation for any potential new client. This gives us a chance to get to know each other. Many of your questions can be answered during this call.

  • The next step would be to complete the intake paperwork. Then we schedule our first appointment. I will send you a link for our video session at that time.

  • Initially I usually begin with weekly sessions and adapt our schedule based on your needs. As we work together the first few sessions we can determine your treatment plan goals. This will allow us to start off strong and see more progress. The frequency of sessions may increase or decrease to best meet your needs at any given time.

  • EMDR is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. With this technique we will identify core negative beliefs or memories that are “stuck” and use a form of bilateral stimulation for the brain to help us to finally process these memories. You can use tapping, back and forth eye movement, or auditory sounds to create the bilateral stimulation. Bilateral stimulation just means that we are stimulating the left side of the brain and then the right side of the brain, repeatedly. This mimics REM sleep, which is a stage of sleep that we experience vivid dreams and are able to process unhealed emotions.

  • When we are processing trauma it may take more time. By offering extended sessions we may be able to make more progress towards resolution if we do not have to limit the session time. This allows us to work uninterrupted and allow several memories to arise and be processed through one session.

  • I send a zoom link for every therapy session and I provide you with an EMDR link from bilateralstimulation.io. I request that you use headphones that are connected to the device you are using for the bilateralstimulation.io. This program allows you to experience two forms of bilateral stimulation (auditory and visual). I would need to be able to see you during our session. You can use a second device that I am on, or a secondary monitor.

  • Yes, since covid studies have been conducted that suggest it is equally as effective as in person EMDR.

  • Yes, I can provide the EMDR services and you can continue to work with your therapist to process the sessions. If you would like me to coordinate with your current provider, you just have to complete a Release of Information (ROI). EMDR is a technique that does not require a lot of dialogue and maintaining your talk therapy can be helpful. You may also decide to take a break from talk therapy while you go through EMDR, or opt for a longer intensive if timing is limited.

  • Yes I currently offer a Birth Trauma/ Postpartum group to help new moms navigate motherhood after experiencing challenges during birth or postpartum.

  • Yes, you can have individual therapy and join the group. Even if you are receiving individual therapy with another provider. The group can be very beneficial as you navigate through trauma and challenges of motherhood.
